Weekly Digs April 16 -23
The New Pornographers w/ Waxahatchee - April 18th - First Avenue Venue - 7:00PM
Ok everybody: be mature. The New Porngraphers’ name might make you giggle but their music is nothing to laugh at. They’ve been one of the best indie bands in the game for the last 20 years. They will be oozing dopeness at First Avenue soon. Come join.
The Districts w/ Sun Club - April 19th - The Triple Rock Social Club - 7:30PM
The Districts are just a couple of totally normal dudes from Pennsylvania who casually pump out great music. They’re honest, real, and we want to be like them when we grow up. Grab a beer and jam at this acoustic set; chances are - they’ll grab one with you after the show.
Dance Assault / Lady Lark / Human Heat / Meinong’s Jungle - April 20th - Turf Club - 7:00PM
Make Bowie proud and bust out your best pair of red dancing shoes. The DJ line-up includes 4 MN-based artists, all with sets that are sure to make it feel like the late ‘80s all over again. Now, we’re not saying red shoes are mandatory. Buuuut we just really really like red shoes.
Jacob Hanson & James Buckley - April 22nd - Icehouse - 6:30PM
If you want the quintessential local music experience, this show is a can’t miss. James Buckley has lent his experimental bass style to all kinds of settings, from Coachella 2011 to Bon Iver’s new album ‘22’. His folky vibes will be mixed with Jacob Hansons blues-rock to give you all kinds of an emotional rollercoaster.
BONUS: no cover.
