Weekly Digs June 12 - 19
Charlie Doesn’t Surf // Cat Tatt // Drumbeat Red - June 14th @ Triple Rock Social Club
These super vibey Minneapolis bands are definitely about to make your night super trippy. Check out Charlie Doesn’t Surf on bandcamp to hear their (non)surfer rock jams. To be honest, the other two bands are so obscure that we couldn’t really find any info on them. If that doesn’t convince you to attend this show, I don’t know what will.

Hey herbivores! Now’s your chance to enjoy a fancy 4-course meal that is sure to astound your meatless, dairy-free mouths. A Tribute to David Bowie: Seu Jorge from The Life Aquatic - June 17th @ Hennepin Theater
What do you get when you cross Wes Anderson, David Bowie and a grammy-winning Portuguese guitarist? An incredible concert that you honestly cannot miss. We’ve had our eye on this event for a while now. Seu Jorge will play covers of David Bowie songs in portuguese, just as he did in ‘The Life Aquatic’ film. Not convinced? We’ll let Bowie do the talking:
“Had Seu Jorge not recorded my songs in Portuguese, I would never have heard this new level of beauty which he has imbued them with.”
COMMUNE BABES - A Winter Downpour
Back in October, we all got funky with Night Moves at one of our favorite Commune Duluth shows of the year. Another band, A Winter Downpour, killed their opening set that night, bringing amazing vibes and jams. We’re pumped to report that they’ve made some huge moves since then. They played the Duluth Homegrown Music Fest and are still out and about with tons of shows.
Join them on June 30th for the vinyl release party of their new album: ‘Oh This Pleasant Lake’ at Red Herring!
